What does treatment involve?

The rootcanal treatment involves three steps, clean, shape and pack.

All inflamed and infected tissue is carefully removed, then the canals may be cleaned. We then use an electronic depth gauage to measure the length of each individual canal.

Once the depth of the canal is determined each canal is cleaned, rinsed and dried to the end of the root tip. Through thorough cleaning a shape is given to the canal walls allowing for them to be correctly sealed.

The canals are sealed with gutta percha (extract from an Indonesian rubber plant) . With heat and pressure this can carefully seal to the very tip of the canal, so a stopper is created. This stopper can clearly be seen on an xray.
